At The Pub

From the first moment I saw this English pub gacha set by MadPea at 6 Republic, I knew I had to collect the whole thing. I love things like this where you can collect a matching building and interior from a machine, and it all looks put-together and cohesive in the end. The little details in the set are really great, as well. In my mind, it’s easy to imagine the noise of the patrons as the chat with each other and drink their drinks and feel the energy of a busy pub.

I’d also like to highlight the untied bowtie that I’m wearing. I recently became an official blogger for Ama. and though this is an older item of theirs that is in their main store, it’s the first thing from them that I am blogging since that happened. I’m so happy, proud, and appreciative to be on their blogging team.

Fresh Pizza

There were so many great things released at 6 Republic, with many of them being gacha sets. This pizzeria by unKindness is one of them. Unfortunately, the creators didn’t have a building in the set for all of the pieces to go into, but I think it fits this new skybox from BALACLAVA!! really well. For decor, I used pieces from a lot of other stores at 6 Republic, because so much of it fits together really well.

Starry Night, City Lights

The Event 6 Republic just opened yesterday, and has all kinds of great stuff from many creators, themed around two of the world’s most iconic cities – London and New York. I spent way too much there, so there will be a few posts drawing heavily from the event. This photo started out as a much bigger set that I was putting together, but then I realized that I had a much better photo staring me right in the face, and ended up with this. I used to live in New York City, and can remember many nights when I sat in the living room of my apartment with the moonlight streaming in, trying to figure out what I needed to do. This photo captures some of that feeling that I had back then.

Perfectly Relaxing

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for summer to get here. Thankfully, Trompe Loeil is helping is get ready early with this amazing new set that they released at FaMESHed, which opened yesterday. The set consists of two different types of chairs (one with a towel on it, one without) in both white and black wood, a beach towel, this pool area, and a free umbrella as a gift to celebrate FaMESHed’s fourth anniversary. All of the fabrics have a ton of different texture choices, which just adds to the awesomeness of the set.

There are also a couple of great accent pieces here from a new gacha set by ChiMia from a machine at this month’s Gacha Garden. The lemonade can bucket and beach bag really add a lot to the scene, I think.

In addition, one of my favorite stores, [ kunst ], has released this great new leather cuff for the event MIX. It’s so incredibly customizable, so it’s sure to fit whatever outfit you put it with. Enjoy this early taste of summer! I know that I will.

Temptation

When I first saw these wings from Blueberry at The Epiphany, I was so sad that they were in a gacha machine full of female items. Then, I saw just how good they were, and I decided that I needed them anyway. They were definitely worth what I spent getting them. Paired with these pants and boots that just came out from [Body Factory] at Men Only Monthly, it makes for a perfect look for an incubus.

Sick Day

I was feeling fine when I went to bed last night, but I woke up this morning with a sore throat and congestion. I guess I caught something from the guy I was next to on the plane flying home a few days ago. Lucky for me, Dynasty came out with their “Care Package” gacha set at The Epiphany a couple of days ago. It looks great with the the Stationed in Soho set from Sayo at the same event. Seriously, though, this couldn’t have been better-timed to match what’s going on for me right now in my real life. It’s crazy how things work out like that sometimes!

After the Game

A friend of mine recently held a sportswear-themed event, which had me scrambling to figure out what to wear. I came up with this outfit, which I totally love. I must admit, I have a *bit* of a sportswear fetish, especially for American-style football players. Now that I’m back from my trip, I decided to throw together a locker room set and photograph this outfit. The shoulder pads are no longer available, but after I told the creator (who happens to be a friend of mine) that there really weren’t any good football pads out there, he’s going to put them back on his Marketplace store soon! There is also a much more adult version of this image, which can be seen on my Flickr stream! I’m currently a tropical paradise in Real Life, but when I saw this new shirt at The Men’s Department from Fabulous and Trendy, I knew I had to photograph it in a tropical locale in-world immediately. Matthias Zander

I came to a sad realization recently – I’ve been in Second Life for almost 12 years, but I have very few photos from that time. Sure, I have memories, but I can’t go back and look at a lot of the great moments. With that, I started posting photos to Flickr. Soon, friends were urging me to start blogging, and I got a few people asking me where I got things. So, here we are! I guess more accurately, here I am. For my first post, I’m in one of my favorite spots on the grid, taking a new profile photo to help symbolize this new start. I’m here, and I’m not going back.
